Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts enhance productivity and impress people. :) Well, sometimes. Windows 7 boasts more shortcuts than you can shake a stick at.  Take that Mac!

Here are some of our favorites:

  • Win+Home: Minimize all but the active window
  • Win+Space: Peek behind your windows at the desktop
  • Win+Up arrow: Maximize the active window
  • Win+Down arrow: Minimize the active window or restore the window if it's maximized
  • Win+Left arrow: Dock the window to the left side of the screen; If it is already docked left, it is moved to the right half of the screen; If it is already docked right, it is restored to its original size
  • Win+Right arrow: Dock the window to the right side of the screen; If it is already docked right, it is moved to the left half of the screen; If it is already docked left, it is restored to its original size
  • Win+T: Focus and scroll through items on the taskbar.
  • Win+(+): Zoom in
  • Win+(-): Zoom out
  • Shift+Click on a task bar: Open a new instance of that application
