Translated: A new blog series from UplinkSpyder

In the "Translated:" series I will breakdown the walls of understanding between technology and those who would like to use it, but didn't take "geek speak" as a second (or first in some cases) language in high school. I have spent the last 18+ years in the technology industry professionally, and approximately 7 years before that as a hobby.  I learned very early, when talking to others regarding these things that I thought were absolutely amazing and were going to change the face of how we do everything, that most of the people I was trying to tell about them had no clue what I was talking about.  I spoke "geek" at a young age and had to learn how to translate it to those who wanted or needed to know what all of this meant to them.  This is always easier on a person to person basis, but I will be taking on the task globally now.

There are amazing new advancements in the things we use to communicate and to make our lives exciting and/or easier.  And when something new comes out, what is presented looks cool, and sleek, and fast, and helpful, and..... normally we have no idea what they even are, what they are for, or why we "need" them.  Thank you advertising agencies! (end sarcasm)

I am in the process of putting together a list of technologies and topics that I will be discussing throughout the series, and I am giving you, the person it would actually be of assistance to, the opportunity to have things Translated.

To ask a question, or see a blog on a fully translated technology, please Contact Us and I will write out the translation and alert you when it's up.  Until then, look for the next "Translated:" issue coming soon.
